ScaleUp inBrazil finishes its last immersive stage

After receiving a series of content and business opportunities, the accelerated companies return to the Brazilian market the first results of the operational expansion of their businesses. Check out how was the last stage of market exploration through the ScaleUp inBrazil program.

The ScaleUp inBrazil program batch II celebrated the last stage of an immersive experience in the Brazilian innovation ecosystem. The 10 accelerated companies in this batch had the chance to participate in business rounds, receive support from business development and strategic planning services, and explore three innovation ecosystems in Brazil: Florianópolis, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.

The Associação Catarinense de Tecnologia - ACATE - presented the city of Florianópolis as one of the Brazilian Silicon Valley. The island attracts not only for being considered one of the safest capitals in Brazil, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), but also for being the most entrepreneurial city after São Paulo, according to the 2020 Entrepreneurial Cities Survey conducted by Endeavor.

Due to its geographical proximity to São Paulo, we presented two states in the Southeast region: Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais. The wonderful city presented the best of the carioca ecosystem through Fábrica de Startups, an initiative that accelerates and connects startups with large companies. Besides the carioca lifesytle drawing attention, the city has an advantage for having a large local consumer market, human capital, and support for entrepreneurship. For these reasons, Rio is among the 10 most entrepreneurial cities in Brazil in the 2020 Entrepreneurial Cities ranking.

Minas Gerais has the third largest GDP among Brazilian states and is the second state with the most startups in Brazil. For companies in the agtech, automotive, and life sciences sectors it was clear that it was necessary to consider the state in their strategy to expand operations to Brazil. CDL/BH, Orbi and the Secretariat of Economic Development of Minas Gerais conducted the presentations of the innovation centers in Belo Horizonte, the capital city of Minas Gerais.

The immersive experience ended with the ScaleUp inBrazil Forum event, where the accelerated companies promoted their products and services, and shared their experiences and results with the program partners. This graduation event proved what we already know: success cannot be achieved alone, but with collaboration we got a great job done!
